We're feeling super proud to have received the

Regional Interior Design Award

In conjunction with Redmond Builders for the 2023 Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards.
It was a pleasure to work on this small but mighty new build. The Stables is a blend of beautiful natural textures and tones creating a soft, cosy lodge feeling for this stunning space. Wool, leather and linen reign supreme, complementing exposed wooden beams, panelled walls and natural wood flooring. A highlight was the gabled upstairs annex with low ceilings looking over the not so attractive farm water tanks. Frosting the windows eliminated the view while letting light in, and we brought the outside in with a statement papered ceiling. It created a cosy hideaway feel that any child would love to be in!
"This isn’t the biggest build in the district, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in detail. The 181sqm property is bespoke, highly crafted and appealing. Built to resemble stables that were once on the site, the house also has the feel of a country lodge — a rustic yet high-end bolthole ... Timber was critical to the project. The house has wooden framing, claddings, flooring, exposed structural beams and posts...recycled planks and ply were used in the interior linings. All the timber necessitated top-drawer carpentry skills, especially the stained cedar cladding and trim...An animal yard on limestone and machinery storage within the property, make it unique. It’s just another charming quirk in this project, which was originally designed as a shop. Inside, you’ll find an open-plan kitchen and lounge with the feature hardwood beams, a separate dining room and two good-sized bedrooms, one in a loft above the kitchen. Daybeds in the den mean there’s room for guests.A small wood-burner is enough to heat the house, and a septic system takes care of waste water. No sign of horses, but there’s plenty of proof these builders are frontrunners."
