We spent a creative morning with Jeanie, a trained Annie Sloan stockist, learning how to transform everyday furniture with the magic of Chalk Paint.
Guests brought along their own small pieces—from chairs and side tables to mirrors and lamp bases—and got hands-on with classic Annie Sloan techniques. With guidance from Jeanie, everyone experimented with colour layering, texture, and finishing touches using waxes and brushes provided on the day.
The workshop was a relaxed, inspiring space to try something new, share ideas, and leave with a beautifully upcycled item—along with the skills and confidence to tackle future painting projects at home.
It was such a treat to host a room full of creativity, laughter, and a little paint-splattered fun at our Ahuriri warehouse!
Over the past few seasons, we’ve had the pleasure of guiding guests through the art of lampshade making—one of our most hands-on and rewarding workshops.
Using beautiful fabrics and professional-grade materials, participants created their own classic drum or cone-shaped shades, perfect for ceiling pendants or table lamps. Whether working with bold prints or subtle textures, each person left with a custom piece that reflected their personal style and added charm to their home.
These classes were not only creative but also filled with good chats, helpful guidance, and a sense of pride in making something truly useful by hand. We can’t wait to do it again!
