We take great pride in manufacturing one of the cleanest, most efficient wood burners on the market. Economic and eco-efficiency have always been the heart of a Pyro Fire’s design. When first commissioned by New Zealand’s Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, the challenge was to develop the most economic and environmentally conscious woodburning fireplace according to verifiable scientific research. The response to this challenge was the development of Pyro Fire’s revolutionary cylindrical ceramic ‘Heat Sustainer’. The combination of the Heat Sustainer’s cylindrical construction and ceramic material, stores and releases heat far more efficiently than traditional steel fireboxes, providing consistent warmth for longer periods with less wood. The design has evolved over four iterations, culminating in the current Pyro Classic and Pyro Mini models.

The Pyro Fire was designed with the future in mind, an Ultra Low Emission Burner (ULEB) and compliant with the with the Canterbury Air Plan and Canterbury Method 1 standards before either concept became a requirement of modern fireplace installation. The Pyro Classic was the first ULEB fireplace available on the New Zealand market that offers a true overnight burn meaning you can stoke your fire, be heated overnight, and wake to a warmer home on a single load of wood without need for resetting and reignition in the morning.
